Biography

After leaving Bryn Celynnog Secondary School I started my career at Cwm Colliery NCB. During my initial training I was selected as a student for the first ever Indentured Apprenticeship scheme.  I attended Treforest Mining and Technical College where I gained my qualificiation as an electrical engineer.  I was senior shift engineer at Cwm Colliery & Cwm Power Station.

I have served on many local committees and was the founder member of Beddau and Tynant allotments, working with the Community Council organising land allocation as well as the allotment blueprint for the segmentation for the individual plots along with their associated pathways.

I have also served on the Allotment Association in many roles, mainly as their secretary. I applied for and was awarded a lottery grant for improved faciities at Tynant allotment site, the benefits of which are seen by the plotholders, visitors and school classes who visit the site.

I pledge to put our community first, looking after the wellbeing of our children and adults, to stamp out anti-social behaviour in our community, to protect the vulnerable amongst us, while also ensuring that our community gets the funding to make this happen
