In 2015 RCT Council approached the Community Council to see if they could help with a problem on Talbot Road. With the shortage of parking in the street, some people were parking on the pavement.
Unfortunately this is not a safe solution to shortage of parking and was putting pedestrians at risk. Rather than simply place bollards by the road side to prevent the cars from accessing the pavement RCT wanted to do something useful for the Community.
It was agreed that the Community Council would fund, 3 new benches and also some bicycle racks. The new SUSTRANS Community Route passes directly through Talbot Green and it is hoped that the bicylce racks may encourage people to stop and utilise the local shops and facilities.
RCT installed the benches and bicycle racks for the Community Council in April 2016.
