Applications are invited for the post of Community Hall Caretaker for the Community Council’s two Halls;


Llys y Cwm Hall, Gwaunmiskin Road, Beddau,


Caerlan Hall, Newbridge Road, Llantrisant and the Parish Office.




Hours: 25 per week,  Cleaning and maintenance duties generally during the early mornings (before 9.00am) and caretaking duties in the evenings and at weekend for hall users.  The role will also include an element of hall management and liaison with hall users, contractors and people interested in hiring the venues.  Some weekend work required.




Salary – NJC Pay Scale 13, Full time equivalent £16,491


The successful applicant must be able to work on their own initiative.  They need to have good time management skills, be reliable and flexible.


The Community Council owns two Community Halls, Llys y Cwm Hall on Gwaunmiskin Road, Beddau and Caerlan Hall, where the Parish Office is also based on Newbridge Road, Llantrisant. Llys y Cwm Hall is used regularly by the local Meithrin and the Community Council run youth club.  Caerlan Hall is hired out by a variety of local community groups.  Bookings can be in the evenings and at weekends.  The Community Council operates a flexi time scheme to reclaim any additional hours worked.


Llantrisant Community Council is a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme, which the successful applicant would be entitled to join. There is an entitlement to 25 working days’ holiday, rising to 30 days upon completion of 5 years continuous service, in addition to the 8 bank holidays determined in each calendar year by the Council.  The post will be subject to a six month probationary period
